Ken Smith is a professional textile artist from Tasmania who exhibits and tutors Australia wide and internationally including New Zealand, Canada and the USA. Ken’s techniques and experience with manipulating textiles is undoubtedly extraordinary, a master in Wearable Art.
His workshops offer an extensive range of classes from Silk Painting (Aussie Shibori) to Freehand Machine Embroidery.
All workshops will run from 9am - 4pm.
Morning Tea & Lunch will be provided.

This workshop is entirely technique-based. There is no end product other than samples
recording the students’ exploration of the techniques taught.

KS3- KEN SMITH "How to Become Almost Completely Detached": 12-14 June, 2014
This course involves both work on dissolving fabric and work on a fabric sandwich, together with off-the-edge openwork.
Techniques are used to produce a trumpet flower on a bark background.
